Founded in 1911, University School offers a range of general academic and extracurricular activities to students in kindergarten through grade 12. It is a public school that serves more than 500 students. The school conducts classes in English, math, science, social studies, language arts and geography. University School operates a library and media center that features a collection of books and periodicals. It also offers various sports programs, such as baseball, softball, golf and soccer. The school administers international exchange programs. University School maintains bowling and chess clubs, as well as operates parent conferences. It additionally organizes field trips to educational and cultural locations. The school is a part of East Tennessee State University.
