Mr. Savela has been a public defender since 1997. He worked for in the public defenders office in Adams, El Paso and Route counties for 5 years. In 2002, he opened his law practice in Boulder.

A primary area of practice is defending those accused of driving under the influence. Mr. Savela is a Certified Breath Alcohol Technician for the Intoxilyzer 5000 by Industrial Training and Design, Ltd. Mr. Savela practices in all Colorado courts, including state and federal court. He has handled cases from Hugo to Durango, but primarily practices in Boulder, Broomfield, Longmont, Golden and Brighton areas.


Mr. Connell is a graduate of the University of Denver School of Law. He will practice Criminal Defense and Family Law.


Mr. Connell enters this private practice after 14 years as a public defender in Denver, Brighton, Greeley and most recently in Boulder. He was a public defender in the Boulder office for over 4 years, from January of 2006 to April of 2010. He has tried over 100 jury trials, which comes out to 7 or 8 jury trials per year. That is one trial every 6 weeks for 14 years. He has had an amazing success record, at one point receiving 8 not guilty verdicts in a row on felony trials.
