Darrell E. Schwertner, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician and gastroenterologist at Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Gastroenterology. He has treated patients in Glynn and surrounding counties for 25 years and specializes in a variety of abdominal conditions, including reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, abdominal pain, irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticulitis. His areas of special interest are colon cancer prevention and colon cancer screening. Dr. Schwertner graduated Cum Laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, completed his internal medicine residency at Keesler Air Force Base, and finished his gastroenterology training at the University of South Florida.
