The San Joaquin AIDS Foundation is a non-profit health and human services agency. The Board of Directors, professional staff and trained volunteers of the San Joaquin AIDS Foundation consider AIDS and HIV infection a serious global health crisis, touching the lives of every American. The Foundation seeks to foster a community response to AIDS based on scientific fact, informed medical and public health policies, and compassionate care. Founded in 1984, one year after the first person was diagnosed with AIDS inside San Joaquin County, the Foundation emerged as a cooperative partnership of concerned doctors, nurses, social service and mental health providers, religious leaders, county officials and private citizens. The Foundation was incorporated in 1986 and now receives federal, state, county and private funding.
