The Traffic Engineering Section provides roads engineering and maintenance services. It reviews road conditions and provides traffic signals, control signs, striping and guardrails. The section s neighborhood traffic program uses traffic calming techniques, including road bumps. The Traffic Engineering Section also provides permits for special events, such as a parades, street fairs and neighborhood block parties. It also issues traffic control permits. The section is a part of the Department of Public Works of the County of San Diego government. The department is responsible for land development civil engineering review, construction management, land surveying and map processing, watershed quality and flood protection and environmental planning.
