Rujvi Kamat, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in geriatric neuropsychology. She treats older adults with dementia, Parkinsons disease, multiple sclerosis, HIV infection, head injury, and a variety of psychiatric disorders.Her research focuses on HIV infection, successful aging, technology-based interventions to help older adults maintain quality of life, and cultural neuropsychology (which focuses on the relationship between culture and cognitive function.)She is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society and often speaks on topics such as HIV, successful aging, cognitive training and dementia education.Prior to joining UC San Diego Health in 2016, she was a postdoctoral fellow at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She completed a neuropsychology internship at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the San Diego State University/ UC San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology.
