Piedmont Open IB Middle School is a public magnet school located in Charlotte, N.C. It serves students in grades six through eight and offers courses in math, language arts, science and physical education. The school also offers classes in Spanish and French. Additionally, it provides a variety of athletic activities, such as volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, basketball, football and baseball. Its language arts programs feature various genres of literature, such as magazines, newspapers, biographies, autobiographies, short stories and news articles. The school s social studies classes offer information on landforms, European history and ancient Greek vocabulary. Piedmont Open IB Middle School also has a media center that organizes book fairs and summer reading programs.
