Established in 1908, Piedmont City Hall is comprised of various departments, including human resources, finance, fire, police and recreation. It also includes the offices of the city attorney and clerk. The city clerk s office performs a variety of functions related to elections, business licenses and home occupation permits. Piedmont City Hall s finance department is responsible for the internal financial operations of the city, including payroll and accounts payable and receivable, as well as the preparation of annual budget. It also maintains a public works department that maintains utilities and infrastructural systems for the community and provides various services in the areas of building inspections, code enforcement, and planning and zoning.
