New York Comic-Con is North America's largest comic book convention. It is a four-day fan-fuelled celebration of comics, anime, graphic novels, video games, toys, movies, and television. Guests attend to show off their cosplay costumes, acquire autographs of famous actors, writers, and artists, and to attend panels, workshops, shopping stalls, and premiers. Frequented by some of Hollywood's top actors and directors, as well as some of the biggest names in manga and comics, it is often the spot where much-anticipated trailers make their debut, and entire casts from TV shows and superhero movies are on-hand for a Q&A. The fact that industry professionals take it seriously speaks to the attendance of over 130,000 people daily: the max capacity for the Jacob Javitz Convention Centre, where it is held. Tickets (either day or weekend) must be purchased in advance, and often sell out the same day they are released.
