Established in 1963, Mid Florida Tech offers educational and career counseling through a range of educational programs and encouraging participation in student organizations. The center has adult and community and instructional service centers that provide apprenticeship training. Mid Florida Tech offers customized training through its Center for Business and Industry Training (CBIT) and the Central Florida Fire Academy. It provides training in the areas of art, communication, audio and video, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, and business administration, legal, protective, transportation, distribution and logistics services. The center also offers General Educational Development (GED) test preparation, high school dual enrollment, and remediation and special needs services and Adult Vocational English Literacy, which serves more than 140 dialects. Mid Florida Tech is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).
