Medical City Dallas Hospital was established in 1974 by a group of North Texas medical specialists as a new kind of health care facility. Some 1,250 physicians practice more than 95 medical specialties at Medical City. Patients come from all over the United States and 75 foreign countries to receive health care from Medical City Dallas on local, national and international levels. It is a subsidiary of HCA, also known as the Hospital Corporation of America, which owns and operates more than 170 hospitals and nearly 110 freestanding surgery centers in the United States, England and Switzerland.
