Dr Beecher provides psychiatric care using psychotherapy with medications if needed. Patients are encouraged to understand their reasons for seeking psychiatric care and what they wish to do to change their lives for the better. He is trained and experienced in psychopharmacology, and may recommend medications considering a patients- total medical situation including illnesses treated by other doctors and possible drug interactions.

Dr. Beecher has special training in addiction psychiatry and support recovery and personal growth through self-help programs such as AA, Rational Recovery, Women for Sobriety, DBT, EA, and CSP groups.

The doctor-patient relationship can be a powerful tool to help patients, and he fosters personal growth, symptom reduction, problem mastery, and medical self-management and decision making.
