Dr. Koyama has received extensive training in his specialty both home and abroad. He obtained his DMD in 2000 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. His residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was begun at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and completed at Broward General Medical Center/NSU in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 2004. During his residency, he also gained experience in medicine, general anesthesia, general surgery, neurosurgery, ICU care, and pediatric surgery. Prior to his studies at University of Pennsylvania, he obtained his DDS degree and had his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Japan. Following the completion of his residency in 2004, he served as an attending surgeon and a member of the trauma team to take care of severe facial trauma at a Level 1 trauma center in Broward County, FL. Dr. Koyama is proficient in full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has been granted full privilege at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and is taking ER calls for the community for facial trauma
