Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass was established in October of 1990, when Kittrell Glassworks, owned by David & Barbara Kittrell, and Riff's Stained Glass, owned by Michael Riffkind, decided to merge their operations. Currently located in the Village on the Parkway in Addison, they operate a full service art glass studio specializing in leaded, fused, and beveled architectural art glass, repairs and restorations. The studio teaches classes in stained glass, fusing, and beadmaking, and offers a full line of glass and supplies. Their clientele includes designers, architects, builders, churches, and residential homeowners. In addition, Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass sells work from over 300 contemporary glass artists from all over North America in their spacious gallery. Kittrell/Riffkind's studio staff offers a combined total of over 115 years of professional experience working with glass. Michael Riffkind started Riff's Stained Glass in 1978 in Dallas, specializing in custom stained glass and autonomous pieces that he sold at art shows around the country and taught continuing education stained glass classes through North Lake Jr College. In 1983 he moved his studio to Irving. Expanding, in 1989 he opened a small gallery adjacent to his studio, showing work of some of the artists he had met at art shows from around the country. David & Barbara Kittrell started Kittrell Glassworks ( originally Colorworks Stained Glass ) in January of 1980 in Dallas, specializing in custom stained & etched glass. David has taught classes in glass working techniques continuously in their studio since that time. In 1981 they moved their studio to the Olla Podrida in North Dallas, where they continued to expand their operation over the next several years.
