Julie L. Le, DO, is a board-certified psychiatrist who works in primary care clinics alongside primary care doctors to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care. She acts as a psychiatry consultant, offering expert medication review and management for mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). As a consultant, she typically cares for patients for a short period of time and either refers them back to their primary care physician or to outpatient psychiatry or specialty clinics. Dr. Le sees patients by internal referral only. She is passionate about educating family physicians and internists about mental health conditions, and has lectured on Depression 101 for the Family Physician" and Approaches to Anxiety Disorders in Primary Care" to improve mental health care in the primary care setting.Dr. Le is also the associate program director of the combined family medicine and psychiatry residency program at UC San Diego School of Medicine and is dedicated to caring for San Diegos underserved and homeless populations.She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, now called A.T. Still University. She completed a combined family medicine and psychiatry residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is board certified in both family medicine and psychiatry.
