Kermit Ivey founded Ivey s Plumbing and Electrical Company, the precursor of Ivey Mechanical Company, in 1947. The small repair shop focused on residential and small commercial construction. The first major commercial job the company acquired was the electrical contract for the East and West Side Elementary Schools in Kosciusko, Miss. Ivey Mechanical Company contracts sheet metal, air conditioning and heating, control and medical gas systems and plumbing services. The company has been involved in a variety of projects, which includes health care, industrial, data processing, manufacturing, commercial, environmental, government and military facilities. Ivey Mechanical Company has a location in Lexington, Ky.
