At Greenwood School we recognize that no two students are the same and neither are their learning styles.Therefore teachers use multi-sensory teaching methods: hands on, auditory and visual. Founded in 1985, Greenwood School serves students with auditory and visual processing delays, specific learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders. It provides various opportunities for the academic, physical and emotional development of students in grades 6 through 12. The school provides instruction in the core subject areas and a wide variety of enrichment courses. Greenwood School employs a full teaching staff, as well as a librarian and a counselor. It houses a library and media center, art room, and gymnasium. The school athletic program includes volleyball, flag football, basketball, and cheer leading. We also offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including Chess Club, Fencing, Archery, Run Club, S.T.E.A.M. Club, Lego Club, and Zoology Club. Greenwood School has a parent-teacher organization that encourages the participation of parents in various school activities. Greenwood School participates in the McKay and Gardiner Scholarship programs. The school is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools. Greenwood School is located in Jacksonville, Fla.
