Located in Laredo, Texas, the Gateway Academy is a part of Student Alternatives Program, which is a nonprofit corporation that works to provide educational choices to students and sponsors charter schools throughout Texas. The Gateway Academy serves students up to the age of 20 and conducts educational classes in grades 9 through 12. It offers student-centered, individualized and competency-based curriculum. The academy offers various educational programs in creative and practical writing, math, English as a Second Language, reading improvement, Spanish, biology, chemistry and environmental science. The Gateway Academy conducts various events and activities that include field day and prom nights.
