Garden Valley Ranch is a 10 acre boutique ranch growing garden roses in Petaluma, California. The property and its beautiful historic structures including guest cottages are framed by thousands of planted roses. Garden Valley Ranch was originally part of an 1880s cattle ranch. Many of the original buildings are still intact, such as the Carriage House, Belfry, Cottage, Bunkhouse. In 1982 Rayford Reddell and partners converted this to a rose-growing operation, mainly for cut roses to the floral trade. It is one of only a handful of places in the country that grow true Garden Roses (roses that are grown without cover in open fields). We also have a rose nursery with over 600 varieties of roses. Well-established gardens are a hallmark of the visitor's experience, with over 10,000 roses, and hundreds of perennials, bulbs, annuals, flowering shrubs and trees in a pastoral setting.
