Dr. Ron Yarbrough was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He relocated to Florida’s west coast from New York City and currently lives in Tampa. He is an Accredited and Certified orthodontist, and received three additional years of training in order to attain this distinction.


Dr. Yarbrough received his Bachelors of Science, graduating with honors, from Auburn University. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD), graduating with honors, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Dental School. He then moved to New York City, where he completed a three-year orthodontic residency at Saint Barnabas Hospital affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University. One of the finest orthodontic residency programs in North America. Dr. Yarbrough opened First Impressions Orthodontics from the ground-up, in the Citrus Park/Westchase area of Tampa Bay in 2010. Prior to that he held orthodontic contracting jobs in New York City, Long Island New York, the Hamptons on Long Island, Bronx New York, Saint Petersburg Florida, Bradenton Florida and Birmingham Alabama. He has had extensive experience with all types of orthodontic appliances and techniques in lots of different geographical locations. In 2014, he purchased Dr. Donald Turner’s orthodontic practice and became the sole owner of (Turner &) Yarbrough Orthodontics in Clearwater.


Dr. Yarbrough is a member of the American Association of Orthodontist (AAO), Southern Association of Orthodontist, Florida Association of Orthodontist, American Dental Association (ADA), as well as Hillsborough and Pinellas county dental associations. He takes hours of continuing education annually to keep up to date on the latest trends and educational advancements in the orthodontic field.
