Dr. Paul McAllister is a Muskegon native who attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree, and then obtained his chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduating as Valedictorian of his class in 2014. He worked as a chiropractor for two years at a wellness based office in the Detroit area before deciding he wanted to return to his hometown. He is thrilled to be joining the staff at Semlow Chiropractic Wellness Center.

Dr. McAllister became interested in pursing chiropractic after witnessing its amazing results in his own family. After originally planning to be a medical doctor, the improvement in his family’s health with chiropractic care made him rethink his decision. After looking further into chiropractic, he realized that medicine often focuses only on addressing a patient’s symptoms with treatments like pharmaceuticals that can cause side effects. These treatments often only mask the real issue, rather than correcting the cause of their complaints. Chiropractic, on the other hand, focuses on addressing causes instead of symptoms, using conservative spinal adjustments with minimal risks and side effects. This seemed to him to be a much more logical approach to health care.

Ensuring that patients not only receive excellent care but also understand why their care is effective is a passion of Dr. McAllister. He has seen first hand that chiropractic care is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, and helping patients understand this concept and get on a road to improving their own health changes their lives.

Dr. McAllister lives in Norton Shores and enjoys running, cycling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
