Dr. Miguel Cunha, founder of Gotham Footcare and a leading podiatrist in Manhattan, is a highly trained and skilled foot and ankle surgeon with experience treating a wide array of foot and ankle conditions from minor problems to complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Miguel Cunha received his doctorate from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia in 2007. Dr. Cunha's residency training as Chief Resident was completed at Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. where he received extensive training in lower extremity trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Cunha's interests include all facets of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with an emphasis on cosmetic surgery of the foot and ankle and sports medicine injuries, particularly in runners. Dr. Cunha knows the latest running training techniques and shoe technologies. Dr. Cunha is also well experienced in the most advanced minimally invasive techniques for plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis, including cryosurgery, platelet rich plasma and amniotic regenerative injections, and Tenex Treatment, a minimally invasive, non-surgical approach for eliminating scar tissue, the source of chronic tendon pain.
