Dr. Shakir is the founder of Horizon Vein & Aesthetic Center. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeon. She moved to Portland after completing her medical school in Iraq. In Portland, she attended OHSU to complete her General Surgery Residency. Then spent one year at UCSF to receive further advanced training in Minimally Invasive Surgery. As a clinician, she encourage her patients to take an active role in their care and guide them to make the right decision in that regard by providing up-to-date outstanding quality care.
