Dr. Jeffrey J. Smith is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and Gynecologic surgery. He is currently a Clinical Professor at the Tulsa Osteopathic School Of Medicine and a preceptor for first year medical students at The University of Oklahoma. Dr. Smith has published numerous scientific articles and serves as an investigator for the NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, and other research groups.


He maintains contact with new developments in his field through active participation in a number of respected medical societies including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, the American Uro-Gynecologic Society, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.


Dr. Smith graduated from the University Of Nebraska School Of Medicine, where he also completed his gynecologic/obstetrics residency in 1980. Dr. Smith then completed a one-year fellowship in Pelvic Surgery at Union Memorial in Baltimore, Maryland followed by a two-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University Of California in Los Angeles. Upon completion of his fellowships, he began his practice in 1983 in Oklahoma City at the University Of Oklahoma Health Science Center in the division of Gynecologic Oncology. He advanced to chief of the division, as an associate professor, and developed the Gynecologic Oncology program at HCA/Presbyterian Hospital, prior to OU-HSC'S subsequent joint venture with HCA. In 1990 went into private practice to further develop other clinical Gynecologic Oncology programs at other OKC hospitals including Summit Medical Center(SMC).


Presently, Dr. Smith continues to teach research, build and promote various Gynecologic Surgical Programs, including Urogynecology at SMC, while enjoying the title of one of the "Top Physicians & Surgeons in Oklahoma".
