
Anna Vawter, MD is a Doctor of Medicine certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). She earned her bachelor’s degree with the highest distinction from Northwestern University in Illinois. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Vawter completed her internal medicine internship at Catholic Health Partners in Chicago, where she was named the Intern of the Year. After internship, she completed the dermatology residency program at Stroger Hospital of Cook County, specializing in the management of skin, hair, and nail diseases.
Dr. Vawter brings many years of experience to Thrive Family Dermatology. She has served patients of all ages in a variety of clinical settings. Dr. Vawter practices general medical dermatology, including the diagnosis and management of skin cancers, pre-cancers, benign growths, acne, rosacea, skin infections, eczema, psoriasis, and many other dermatologic conditions. Her practice philosophy is to forge a partnership with each patient, so that every individual is empowered with a clear understanding of their personalized treatment plan.
Before becoming a proud Texan, Dr. Vawter was a senior physician at Kaiser Permanente in San Jose, California, one of the largest non-profit health care systems in the United States. When her patients presented with unusually complex or treatment-resistant skin conditions, Dr. Vawter consulted with Stanford University’s internationally-renowned dermatology researchers to design innovative treatment plans. Dr. Vawter has received multiple awards for her high scores on patient-satisfaction surveys. She looks forward to welcoming patients of all ages to Thrive Family Dermatology for many years to come.
