Founded in 1948, the Dental Assisting National Board is the nationally recognized certification agency. The nonprofit organization offers oral health care services. Its exams are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. The center is a member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance and National Commission for Certifying Agencies. It administers vocational-technical dental assisting and CODA-accredited programs. The Dental Assisting National Board offers assistance to Certified Dental Assistants, Certified Orthodontic Assistants, Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistants and Certified Dental Practice Management Administrators. The center s recertification programs offer college courses and home study options. It is located in Chicago.
