The Center for Urban Community Services, also known as CUCS, is a social welfare organization that offers a range of programs and services for homeless and low-income people, as well as individuals with mental illnesses and special needs. It serves more than 20,000 individuals and families in New York City. The organization also provides consulting services and technical assistance to several organizations and government agencies throughout the United States. Founded in 1979, the Center for Urban Community Services offers a range of permanent housing services that include supportive housing, assertive community treatment and housing placement. Its supportive housing residence projects include Schermerhorn House, The Lee, Fifth Avenue Brooklyn Residence and Hughes Avenue Affordable Housing.
