I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and an advocate for the dietetic profession. I currently serve on the California Dietetic Association (CDA) Executive Board as the CDA Foundation Chair, Scholarship Awards Committee Member, and San Jose Peninsula District President Committee Member. I am a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the recipient of the 2012 Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award. In my practice I provide diet education and Medical Nutrition Therapy. I also maintain my clinical nutrition skills with a limited position as a Clinical Dietitian at Regional Medical Center of San Jose and have participated in special projects including updating the Nutrition Care Process documentation and implementing Computerized Medical Charting and Ordering. As a dietitian, I believe that food is one of the major things you can control when it comes to different diseases. If you have heart disease, diabetes, renal disease, obesity, food allergies; you can control what you are eating to help control your symptoms or the severity of your condition. I also believe that small changes in the short term can lead to big progress in the long term. Everybody and every body is different and should be treated on an individual basis.
