Dr. Afzal is considered a regional expert in vein disease care having performed more than 3000 ablations and 120,000 injections.Dr. Afzal is the regional trainer for Covidien, providing training on radiofrequency ablation, also known as the Venefit procedure. He is also a regional trainer for Vascular Solutions, a company that specializes in the development of medical devices for the vascular field, providing training on endovenous laser ablation, also known as EVLA, Laser and EVLT. He is the only vein doctor in Minnesota who holds this distinction.
